Here Are Some Of Our Most Common Ones

All or Nothing or black and white thinking

Catastrophizing thinking the worst is going to happen to you.

Discounting The Positives about a situation, only looking at the negative of the situation.

Using Emotional Reasoning this is believing something is true because you want it to be that way without looking at any true facts.

Over Generalising A Situation. Making it worse that what it really is and having conclusions about the event.

Mind Reading believing you know what the other person is thinking, before asking them for the true facts.

Imperatives having a fixed strategy, holding unrealistic and fixed standards to a situation. For example

using should’s and could’s to guide your thinking.

Some Questions To Ask Yourself About This?

What are you basing your information on?

Looking at the evidence available to you?

Are you predicting what you think will happen here?

What other reason or evidence is needed here to look at all the facts?

Why is this person behaving like this?

What is the person’s thinking or feeling here?

You need to have the all the facts so you can make an informed decision here.

You can ask yourself what can I bring to the table to use here- knowledge, education, real experiences, tips and tools you know about for you to use here!
